Ethiopia Yirgacheffe is a delicate specialty coffee containing natural black tea, floral, jasmine, and lemongrass flavors. The Arabica coffee plant originated in Ethiopia and the Yirgacheffe region is home to many Heirloom Cultivars from various smallholder farms. The coffee cherries are washed before being sun dried on raised beds. Washed coffee beans have a more consistent quality than unwashed coffees. The high altitudes and rich soils create delicious grade 2 coffee beans with a heavy body brew, giving it a score of 86. Grade 1 – classification allows 0–3 defects which is very exclusive. Grade 2 – classification allows 4–12 defects.
