Colombia Supremo Huila is grown certified farms by multiple smallholder farmers in the surroundings area of the town of San Agustín, Huila department. Colombia is the largest producer of washed Arabica coffee and third total highest in the world, after Brazil and Vietnam. Its annual production ranges from 12 million to 15 million 70-kilo (154 lbs) bags. Colombia is very unique and is able to produce coffee all 12 months of the year due to it’s range of micro-climates and terrain. In addition, the primary varieties grown in Colombia are Caturra, Bourbon, Typica and Variedad (resistant to leaf rust disease know as Roya). Colombian coffee is referred by the region in which it is grown and altitudes range from 1,200 – 2,000 meters above sea level. Grade: Supremo – Screen 17/18 European Preparation (EP) – Screen 15 Excelso – Screen 14/16. It is without a doubt an excellent coffee that offers great quality and delicious flavor notes of cholocolate, apple and brown sugar.
